depends on the situation, this is an extremely one sided portrayal of a situation, without any real context. teenagers are stupid as shit, therefore often times parents have to make tough decisions and try to steer them in the right direction. loving someone and taking care of them isn't always supporting them no matter what they want to do

This shit always makes me chuckle, my parents were junkies, got removed from their custody about halfway through first grade, probably got cps's attention when they accidentally killed me as a toddler, mom died at 8, which I found out about that at 11, then my dad at 14, meanwhile shuffled between extended family that took me in to save face but didn't want the hassle of another mouth to feed so handed me off every 6 to 8 months despite me being well behaved and assuring me I did nothing wrong. Ultimately ending up with me on the street at 17. Rolled with it all though, made me appreciate the things I have and every little joy I can scrape out of this existence despite a strong suspicion that this is either purgatory of an upper circle of hell.

Would help if you try yourself to figure out why they acted/ did that. I'm pretty sure you don't take in consideration the traumatic experiences your parents had too. The circle is viscious af yo. Not saying knowing this will fix the problem either, but at least try to empathize so you won't become malevolent yourself.
